Vision Boards

This was a 3-week activity with the goal of producing a vision board that represents each of the girls! The vision board activity is a creative piece where the girls had the chance to show their artistic side by showcasing their interests, hobbies, likes, dislikes, and much more. The girls had a fun time and bonded with others through this activity. 

Here are the girls vision board and a brief description of them!

My vision board represents me in a way in which I express myself. As you can see, there are images of clothing and outfits representing Muslim women. There are also headscarves and hijabs which I, as a Muslim woman/girl wear. I added these particular pictures to my vision board because I feel that being a Muslim woman in the world is somewhat difficult. Society tells you to dress one way or another, with specific rulings on how a woman should express herself, and that is why it is hard for some of our women in Islam to wear the hijab or abaya, because of the pressure society puts on them. And that’s why one image I’ve placed says “Hijab is the basic right of Muslim Women.” It’s important that we each play our roles, to be part of the change we wish for. When all is said and done, this is what my vision board means to me!

I chose the topic of jewelry because I think it's one of the most important parts of a woman's life. Every woman loves jewelry, it gives them a sense of belonging, love and pride in what they have. Many women also use jewelry to show their body language. For example, women often start twisting their rings when they get anxious, or some women like to play with their necklace when they feel beautiful. Jewelry is a way to enhance women's beauty and to make them feel comfortable in what they have. Jewelry is also a very beautiful thing to gift someone, it shows how important and special you are to them. In conclusion, jewelry plays a major role in a woman's lifestyle and existence.

My vision shows all different women having different fashion tastes and in the middle of the board it says “Going strong for 17 years” because that's menas how old I am.

The reason I added those pictures is because I really love fashion so all those pictures of the womens outfits represent fashion.

This vision board means Fashion and that means so much to me because it lets you find how you truly want to express yourself and how confident you feel once you find the perfect combination of clothing.
